Frequently asked questions
-
Do I need to manage my own wallets or crypto infrastructure?
For payins and payouts:
Merchants can choose to interact with stablecoins or not. They can fund payouts in either stablecoins or traditional fiat currencies, and choose to receive collections in stablecoins or fiat depending on their preferred setup.
dLocal supports different funding and settlement configurations, so merchants do not need to manage their own crypto infrastructure unless they choose to.
For funding/settlement and on/off-ramp:
A stablecoin wallet that is compatible with the networks we support is required to move between digital assets and local currency.
-
Which stablecoins and networks do you support?
USDT: Binance Smart Chain (BEP20), Ethereum (ERC20), Polygon, Tron (TRC20) USDC: Arbitrum, Base, Binance Smart Chain (BEP20), Ethereum (ERC20), Polygon, Solana
-
How do you handle regulatory compliance — Travel Rule, KYC, AML?
Travel Rule controls are integrated into our stablecoin products wherever they apply, and dLocal facilitates the required data exchange through its licensed and regulated partners so merchants don’t have to build this infrastructure themselves.
Stablecoin flows run through licensed and regulated partners and, where applicable, local rails in our supported markets, in line with local regulatory requirements. Specific regulatory obligations for merchants may vary by jurisdiction and use case.
-
Can I choose how I receive settlement — stablecoins, USD or local fiat?
Merchants have full flexibility. Settlement can be received in fiat or stablecoins depending on setup and module.
-
What does 'one API' mean in practice?
One integration into dLocal's existing platform gives merchants access to all stablecoin modules — payins, payouts, on/off-ramps and treasury — alongside 900+ local payment methods, across Emerging Markets. No separate providers, no separate compliance frameworks.
