Bank of Ghana Grants EPSP License to dLocal that Expands Secure Digital Payments

ACCRA, Ghana, September 10, 2026 — dLocal (NASDAQ: DLO), the leading cross-border payment platform connecting global enterprise merchants to emerging markets, today announced that its subsidiary, dLocal Ghana Limited, has been granted an Enhanced Payment Service Provider (EPSP) license by the Bank of Ghana.

This regulatory milestone establishes a new foundation for dLocal to directly operate secure, reliable, and efficient digital payments across the country within the local regulatory framework, and further solidifies its commitment to establishing its customer base on the African continent.

For many Ghanaians, participating in the modern digital economy, such as  shopping online, paying bills, or managing business transactions, requires navigating a complex, often fragmented financial landscape. Eric Kortey, Ghana Country Manager, and Lucia Azinge, Regulatory Affairs – Africa, advanced the work behind this milestone.

“dLocal’s primary goal is to simplify the digital lives of Ghanaians by providing a more reliable and seamless way to transact,” said Oluwademilade Egbeyemi, Regional Expansion Manager (West Africa) for dLocal. “By operating under the guidance of the Bank of Ghana, we are building an infrastructure that gives people the confidence that their money is moving safely, whether they are a local business owner reaching new customers or a consumer paying for essential services.”

Impact for the Ghanaian Ecosystem

The authorization allows dLocal to offer a comprehensive suite of payment services designed to support broader national goals, including:

  • Increased Financial Inclusion. By streamlining payment collections and payouts, the platform helps make digital commerce more accessible to businesses of all sizes, from small local shops to large enterprises.
  • Enhanced Transaction Security. Operating as a licensed EPSP means all digital payments processed through dLocal’s infrastructure adhere to strict local regulatory standards, fostering a safer environment for consumers.
  • Reliable Connectivity. The license facilitates a more stable connection between local payment methods, such as mobile money and bank transfers, and the broader digital economy, reducing the friction often experienced during online transactions.
  • Support for Local Growth. By providing businesses with a robust, regulated infrastructure, the company aims to help local merchants scale their operations and generate trust abroad to boost new opportunities.

This development marks a significant commitment to Ghana’s digital-first future, emphasizing the company’s role in supporting a secure and inclusive  financial ecosystem in the markets they operate in.
