dLocal and Amazon Strengthen their Alliance and Offer Payments with Interest-free Installments

In view of Christmas shopping, dLocal and Amazon.com strengthen their alliance and improve the experience of Chilean customers on Amazon.com by enabling payment in 3 interest-free installments.

San Francisco, CA, November, 19th 2020, – Customers in Chile can now shop on Amazon.com paying in Chilean pesos and with three interest-free installments. dLocal, an award-winning financial technology company specialized in payments for emerging countries, announced today that they will enable localized payments for Chilean customers shopping on Amazon.com. With this launch, the US eCommerce company Amazon.com Inc. enables customers in Chile with the possibility of paying with local payment methods and facilitates access to the product selection available on Amazon.com.

This launch improves the payment experience, allowing Chilean customers to access more than 45 million products available on Amazon.com and paying for them in Chilean pesos. And when eligible, customers can purchase through three interest-free monthly installments, with their with Mastercard, Visa and American Express credit cards, issued by local banks in Chile.

“By offering three interest-free installments we are improving access to the 45 million and growing number of products on Amazon for our customers in Chile” says Srinivas Rao, director of digital and emergent payments at Amazon. “This launch is a reflection of our commitment to continuously improve customer experience for our international customers” added Rao.

Amazon and dLocal have been working on offering localized payments in Chile, concluding with the implementation of payments with interest-free installments. The intention is to keep working to provide the best payment experience for customers in Chile.
